PLN, Hmm . . . .?
Personal Learning Network or Professional Learning Network, simply know as a PLN, is a new term to me. So I had to do a little digging to find a definition that made sense to me. A PLN is a group of people/resources that I learn from, can ask questions of, answer questions, bounce thoughts and ideas off and just gain knowledge. People, work colleagues, and communities are part of a PLN. But interactive social technology seems to be a big piece of a PLN, starting with social media platforms.
YIKES! I don't have a Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, or TikTok account or in fact in other types of social media accounts (except this blog, look at me). The article from The Thinking Stick, entitled The Stages of PLN Adoption would be the place for me to start, maybe with Step 1: Immersion. I will join these as needed!
So, I guess, the first piece of my official PLN will be my classmates, to whom I will respond and hopefully they will respond to me. As the semester goes on, I will learn more about PLN's and I will share with you. And if I am understanding PLN's wrong, please share with me and help my understanding!
